PGP Strengthens its Regional Presence at the Primerus LATAM Meeting in Panama

Por Laura Pinilla de Brigard
16 de junio de 2026

At the recent LATAM regional meeting of the international organization Primerus, of which PGP is a member, we participated in a strategic exchange focused on strengthening relationships among member firms and consolidating cross-border partnerships to provide legal services with an increasingly global perspective.

Our participation, along with Claudia Mora and Viviana Africano, allowed us to further strengthen our alliances with LATAM firms and establish new synergies to continue expanding our services for the benefit of our clients.

AI Implementation and Adoption Process in Law Firms

During the meeting, we shared PGP's experience in the process of researching, implementing, and adopting artificial intelligence tools within the firm.

Our experience served as a practical guide and roadmap for partner firms in the region that are initiating or advancing similar initiatives. We focused our presentation on the importance of ensuring that AI implementation and adoption processes adhere to the principles of responsible AI use, derived from the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Law, the OECD Principles and the UNESCO Recommendations. These principles have been incorporated into various Colombian documents, including the Ethical Framework for Artificial Intelligence in Colombia, the Agreement for the Responsible Use of AI in the Judiciary, and ruling T-323 of 2024, among other CONPES documents, regulations, and national jurisprudence.

We share success stories of using AI to assist our services, which have enabled us to produce higher-quality documents and provide more efficient service to our clients.

Strengthening and Promoting Cross-Border Strategic Alliances

At the event, our partner Iker Dieguez, from Cacheaux Cavazos & Newton, addressed issues relevant to the international coordination of legal services. He emphasized the importance of strengthening existing cross-border relationships and building new strategic alliances, aligned with the six pillars that characterize Primerus member firms:

  • Integrity
  • Quality
  • Reasonable Fees
  • Continuing Legal Education
  • Civic Responsibility
  • Community Service

These alliances allow us to expand our capacity to respond to the needs of clients requiring legal support in different jurisdictions, with firms that share our values and vision for legal services.

The Five Levels of Leadership and the DISC System: A Fundamental Element for Law Firms

The agenda also included reflections on organizational leadership, presented by Alejandra Díaz, mentor at Maxwell Leadership, who explained the five levels of leadership, how to progress through them, and how to develop them using the DISC system. These tools allow us to strengthen managerial skills and promote more effective leadership, teamwork, and a focus on adding value to others.

Conclusions

For PGP, these types of meetings represent a valuable opportunity to strengthen existing alliances with partner firms in Latin America and establish new strategic relationships. This directly contributes to offering our clients more integrated and coordinated legal advice, aligned with international service standards, and reaffirms the value of regional collaboration.
